Mitsu 55'' screen

Recently, when turning on my 6 year old WS-55807, the horizontal edges of the picture have begun to bow inward from the middle about 4 inches. Coloration is fuzzy throughout the screen. The condition clears itself - usually within 10 minutes of so, but I know it is a sign of a permanent condition to come. Is there anything I can do myself to fix this issue and avoid the inevitable?

The convergence ICs probably have a cracked solder joint on the foil side of the circuit board. Re-flowing the the solder would help.
I will always replace the convergence ICs when doing this job. The labor remains the same and you will have to pay a few extra bucks for the parts.
To fix this yourself, you will need to be able to identify the two convergence ICs (STK392-570), have a basic knowledge of electronics and be able to use a soldering iron.
